What is SMSH Academy ?

The SMSH Academy offers a comprehensive program that includes:

Extensive technical training in digital manufacturing, covering advanced technologies such as IIoT, Robotics, CNC, Mechanics, Automation, Mechatronics, Smart Manufacturing, Mobility Solutions, and More.

Engaging in online internships where participants can apply their acquired skills in various areas, including business communication, soft skills, engineering projects, and software.

An intern-to-hire program that provides participants with the opportunity to complete an in-person internship at partner companies, primarily based in Tamil Nadu. Successful completion of the program can lead to securing a permanent position with the company. Participants are assured placements in more than 400 manufacturing enterprises.

What is the duration of the course?

The SMSH Academy program has a total duration of 8 months. The initial 8 weeks focus on rigorous online technical training in digital manufacturing, providing students with essential knowledge of the latest industry technologies.

Following the technical training, the next 8 weeks are dedicated to an online internship, where students will work on engineering projects with relevant software packages and develop key business communication skills time management activity, and project reporting skills.

The final 4 months of the program involve the student’s participation in an in-person intern-to-hire program, where they can join manufacturing enterprises and work closely with professionals on real-world projects with industry permanent employment depends on your performance.

How much is the fee?

The applicable fee for the program is 75,000 INR, including GST (Goods and Services Tax).

Is there any assessment in the end?

The SMSH Academy incorporates both pre-assessment and post-assessment components to evaluate the student’s knowledge and skills before and after the program. In addition to that, students are required to submit a 5-minute video every week, explaining the technologies they have learned throughout the month and showcasing the work they have completed.

Is there any eligibility criteria?

Participants should be in their final year of undergraduate studies, job seekers, or have an engineering background.

What is the selection process?

The selection process is based on a first-come, first-served you can get discount by qualifying the assessments.

What type of projects are available?

The SMSH Academy program offered by MTAB covers different technologies such as electrical, electronics, automotive, mechanical design, mechanical production, etc.

What will you(students/candidates) be doing in 8 months?

During the 8-month duration of the program, students will engage in a structured learning and internship experience. The initial 2 months involve technical training, where they will acquire knowledge and skills in various manufacturing technologies. Following this, there will be a 2-month online internship at Abhyaz, providing specific areas of engineering projects and software tools. The last 4 months of the program consist of an in-person intern-to-hire program at various reputed companies, allowing students to apply their learned skills in real-world manufacturing environments.

What are the pre-assessment and post assessment and what kind of question I can expect there and what would be the duration of assessment?

There will be a pre-assessment to evaluate your skill gap, followed by a post-assessment to assess the knowledge you have acquired. Both assessments will be multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and will last for approximately 30 to 45 minutes.

How you are going to manage your study and exams with this program?

The program has a flexible schedule, allowing students to allocate time for their regular studies and exams while actively participating in the program. This ensures a balance between academic commitments and the practical training provided by the program.

Will I get refund if I am not satisfied with the course?

Yes, if students are unable to secure a job placement after successfully completing the SMSH Academy program, a refund will be issued, excluding the GST. The final decision is under MTAB, and their satisfaction and career success are top priorities.

Can I attend this program if I have backlogs?

Yes, students can attend the program even if they have backlogs. However, it is important to note that they may need to clear their backlogs before completing the program. The maximum acceptable backlog is 1.

What type of mentorship will be provided 'one-to-one' or 'one to many'?

The mentorship for this program will be provided in a “one-to-many” format. There will be multiple mentors available to guide and support students throughout the program, each specializing in a specific technology.

When this program will start?

This program has two upcoming batches: Batch 1 starts from 1st August, and Batch 2 starts from 1st September. Seats will be limited to 50.

Which types of job are you providing whether Remote or hybrid?

The program’s first internship is available remotely, allowing participants to gain experience and work from a place of their choice. To provide a more hands-on and immersive learning experience, in-person opportunities are also provided as the program advances. Job placements that come after the program are mostly in-person and similar to a regular work environment.

How many hours do I have to spend daily?

For the initial 2 months of technical training, students need to spend a flexible 2 hours in self-learning sessions. For the subsequent 2 months of the Abhyaz online internship, students need to spend 5 hours per day, but it is flexible. Lastly, during the 4-month MTAB and industry internship, students need to spend their time as per industry requirements.

What kind of support is available if I face any difficulties?

If students face any difficulties during the SMSH Academy program, various support channels are available to assist them. They can connect with the mentor team directly through email support, and chat support from 11 am to 6 pm, and can raise tickets to seek guidance and address any challenges they may encounter.

What is the average package of the placement?

The average package of the placement in this program can vary as per industry standards.

Is this SMSH Academy exclusively for students studying mechanical engineering?

No, this SMSH Academy caters to students from various branches, including electrical, electronics, mechatronics, robotics, automation, and more. It is not limited to mechanical engineering alone.

Is the SMSH Academy exclusively for students in their final year?

The SMSH Academy is specifically designed for final-year students as they are well-prepared to join the workforce immediately.

Would you be available to conduct in-person webinars or provide technical training at our institute?

We will be conducting the entire program virtually without any in-person webinars or training sessions. TPOs (Training and Placement Officers) or HODs (Heads of Departments) can request online meetings, and students will have the opportunity to attend webinars and participate in online training sessions exclusively.
